UNITED NATIONS GENERAL ASSEMBLY: NON-VIOLENCE
To raise awareness for International Day of Peace in 2022, the United Nations and Non-Violence Project collaborated on a filter to encourage the end of racism around the world.
As part of my internship at Phoria Studio I contributed to the The ‘Non Violence’ filter. Inspired by the iconic Knotted Gun sculpture, made in 1980 by Swedish artist Carl Fredrik Reuterswärd. As the sculpture was originally dedicated to John Lennon – a global symbol of peace and non-violence – the filter continues this legacy.
As users interact with the Knotted Gun sculpture, they can overlay beautiful custom designs put forward for this campaign by Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr and Melissa La Bozzetta. The filter asks users to share a personalised message of peace and reflect on the power of knowledge to combat violence around the world.
